Getting to know Ekaterinburg
Getting to know Ekaterinburg
You came to the city for the first time and don't know anything about it. You have just bought the CITY PASS and are now looking through this guide book.

We suggest walking along the Iset river to understand the city, its structure and see the main attractions. The walk will take you about 2 hours.

Ekaterinburg was founded almost 300 years ago as a fortress and a plant. Years passed, and the small plant grew to be an industrial giant which subsequently turned into a modern megapolis. Since the main source of energy back then was water, Ekaterinburg started with the dam. It was along the shores of the Iset river where the city development began. The river became a sort of an axis on which the city is strung. This route is perfect for hot summer days, as it mostly includes city parks and places near water.
Welcome
